- The original version of the map included in The Philadelphia Negro. The map indicates the social class that Du Bois assigned to each black household, based on his interview with them. The map was folded accordion style in the original version of the book. Subtitle: the distribution of Negro inhabitants throughout the ward, and their social condition.
