Stetson building being demolished. Caption from Philadelphia Record, June 8, 1943: "George L. Russell, Jr., president of the John B. Stetson Company, left, and Orville H. Bullitt, regional director of the War Production Board, posting a scrap sign at the Stetson Mission Sunday School, 5th St. and Montgomery Ave. Wreckers began tearing down nine Stetson buildings yesterday to provide 4,000 tons of scrap metal for the war effort."
