- In the Santiarium Association's Annual Report, The superintendent's report for 1987 reads: "The pavilion erected a few years ago by Mr. Samuel H. Gilbert, now deceased, and known at 'The Gilbert Pavilion,' was of great service as a covered playground and a shelter from summer storms.
