Description
Caption: "Here is a view of a so-called "impossible" task half done. It was a 500-foot railway bridge connecting Petty's Island, in the Delaware River, with the Jersey shore. In order to keep 500 men working on the island, it was necessary to complete the bridge in less than two weeks. It was done in nine days. The original bridge was destroyed by fire."
