- Caption reads: Assistant Machine foreman...makes fiddles in his spare time and sometimes he makes 'em of paper. Rice, who has been 25 years with the company and who lives at 5150 N. Fairchild St., makes his paper fiddles by shaping and laminating one sheet of newspaper on top of another, using flour past as the adhesive and covering the body with shellac and varnish. He also makes carrying cases out of paper.
