Philadelphia Glass Works: "The Glass of Northern Liberties" — An Interview with Nathan Purcell
Nathan Purcell and Ian Kerr opened Philadelphia Glass works, the only public lampworking facility in the city, in 2003. They have since moved from the original location in West Philadelphia to 908A North 3rd Street in Northern Liberties.
Local artists, amateurs, and students all use the facility to hone their craft and create unique pieces of glass art. Resident artists teach classes, and display and sell work in the attached Silica Gallery.
