Yards Brewery: "Something to be Proud of" — An Interview with Tom Kehoe and Steve Mashington
In 1988 two beer-loving friends, Tom Kehoe and Jon Bovit, had a crazy idea. Why not turn their garage in Manayunk into a small brewery? By the mid-nineties they had founded Yards Brewing Company, drained their savings accounts, and gained a small following for their micro-brews.
Several moves later—first, up the hill to Roxborough, then, in 2001, to a building in Kensington, and most recently to their current home in Northern Liberties, Yards has continued to flourish.
